Being in a frame

Moments that every woman has experienced.

The current self portrait series is an expression of everyday life. My mirror is the one every woman has in her house. A mirror for trimming and make-up, a
feminine symbol and an instrument to beautify herself for presenting herself. However, its function in this
story has made it somehow a medium to illustrate, me being visible or not, the presence of the woman at
home, at office, in contact with the house inhabitants and the outdoor society.
This collection tracks my wanderings amongst objects and people that recall different responsibilities and
assignments I have in my life. This part of life is constant despite of any advances of the technology.
Through actions and interactions with those who determine your tasks, different shapes and behaviors
come to appearance: Being spouse, being mother, being employee…

I have illustrated being in a frame. A simple account of the life. So simple that we overlook it, but it is
there; we are involved in it, or it is involved with us.
